Bobby

Bobby E. Cox – 1953 – 1987

By Joe Cox for my Dad!

Bobby E. Cox was a good father to me.  Most of my memories were when he lived on 380 outside of Xenia (the house that burnt down) and then on Old Winchester Trail.  Dad enjoyed hunting, fishing, rooster fighting and women! <grining>

Dad was the kind of guy that loved his music.  I always remember riding in the car and the truck and he would have something “cheesy” playing and he would sing to me…then as I got older we would sing together.  One of the best was he got a new answering machine (when they first came out) and he put the song by Lionel Richie “Hello…is it me you’re lookin for?” as the recording.  He was proud of that!

Dad loved to go hunting.  I used to love going rabbit, pheasant and squirrel hunting with him.  He would always tell me about how he went huntinq with his brother…I never knew which brother, but he always said he would hunt when he was my age and he would feed the WHOLE family.  I am not sure if it was a “story” or if it was true!

More to come….but for now…Dad you were the best and you will always be missed!

Bobby and Gary in front of Pat and Bessie Miracle

Here’s a picture of Bobby and Gary in front of Pat and Bessie Miracle’s house on Superior St in Wrightview Hts, Ohio.  Their house was across the street from the Holten properties.
Of course Pat and Bessie had a nicer and bigger house.  They had no kids and always seemed to want to adopt Bobby.
Oops! Have to go find a picture of Pat & Bessie and some dates, etc.
More later.
I just have time to put this one more picture.  Will put more later.  I have to go back and write birthdays and dates down for all of us so I can get the dates right on some of these memories, posts and pictures.

Dad, Bobby, Mom and Gary with Bessie Miracle in Bessie and Pat’s house around 1957.  Not sure about date.  Pat and Bessie love their two little dogs. I think they were Pekingese.  I think this was at the house across from Sarah Childers IGA store.  We lived beside them up there as well as across the street down on Superior.  Not sure what this street name was.

  1. Thanks Joeseph – Great memories of Bobby. I bet we could all write a book on fun loving Bobby. I have a lot to write and I do have a lot of pictures of him from baby on up. I will get them up eventually.
